Hsu Chih-Chien comes from an old shipping family in Shanghai dating back to 1927. Since 1980, Hsu Chih-Chien has been Managing Director of Eddie Steamship Co. Ltd, a family-owned business. In 2000, he became the chairman of Waywiser. Hsu Chih-Chien has an extensive network of business contacts among the major shippers in Asia, and is very experienced in the area of international ship purchasing and sales.
As director of The American Club, Hsu Chih-Chien is very active in the shipping community. He was also the Chairman of International Chinese Executives Association from 1996 to 1998 and has held directorships in the following companies and professional associations, namely North of England P&I Association, Chinese National Shipowners Association of Taiwan, French Bureau Veritas and American Bureau of Shipping.He holds a BA degree from Colby College, Maine, United States of America.
